Advent Candles
Advent is a four-week period prior to Christmas that commemorates the coming of Jesus and marks the start of the new liturgical year. This event is represented by four candles, one for each week. The colors of Advent, pink, purple and white, represent hope, love, joy and peace. The candles remind us to prepare for the coming of Jesus.
Alongside the wreath, some families get excited for the Christmas season by using advent calendars filled with chocolates, toys and even mini makeup products.
On Monday Nov. 28, the annual Advent prayer service was held. Students enjoyed a school-wide adoration led by Deacon Kenny Uhlich, Mrs. Uhlich’s husband. Adoration would not have been the same without the Choral Doves, who accompanied adoration with their beautiful singing voices.
