The Louisiana State Council of the Knights of Columbus selects students each year for its Catholic Youth Leadership Award (CYLA). The application process is intense, but Lucy DiVittorio was up to the task. To get to the state awards level, a candidate must first win in his/her church parish. Lucy was the winner from St. Peter’s. The candidate then competes at the diocesan level, and again, Lucy was the winner for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. All CYLA finalists undergo a multi-faceted interview process and are graded in four categories. During the awards ceremony in Alexandria on May 4, Lucy placed third in the state! Lucy’s winnings from each level of competition totaled $3300. We are proud of Lucy for being a strong Catholic leader!
