Basketball season is upon us and with that comes many fun events: rivalry games, district, playoffs, tournaments and of course, the beloved Senior Night. Senior Night is a yearly tradition for most teams that honors the soon-to-graduate players. It includes an individual presentation of each senior, decorations in the gym and many other festivities.
This year, SSA Basketball has four seniors: Emilee Duet, Sophia Mangano, Abigail McDavid, and Addison Pontiff. Duet, Mangano, and Pontiff have played at SSA since 8th grade and McDavid has since 10th grade. With so many years to dream of Senior Night, it is safe to say I, along with the team, are excited.
The bitter-sweet night is filled with emotions. From reminiscing on highs and lows of our basketball careers, to realizing the last time we play on such a memorable team together is almost upon us, to the powerful feeling of a well deserved win. All players react differently, but there most definitely will be tears on Senior Night.
The pink-adorned Senior Night will occur February 6th against Pearl River High School.
