Earth Day, Every Day

This year on April 22, the whole word celebrated Earth Day . Earth Day is important because it raises awareness for different kinds of environmental problems that are affecting our planet. With new problems appearing more and more as time goes on, we need to start addressing these issues and caring for our planet. Even though we can’t do much right now, there are still some little things that can help.

The first thing that can help is recycling. When we recycle, we reduce the amount of trash that is getting sent to different mass landfills, we protect more of our resources and overall aids in the stop of pollution. There are plenty of recycling bins offered at school, churches, and public spaces. A little can always go a long way.

Another simple thing we can change in our daily lives is how much energy we use. We can make sure to not leave lights on when we don’t need them, or not leave water running. If this becomes a habit, energy consumption could be cut in half in your daily life.

Something that has become very popular recently is buying reusable products. For example, reusable water bottles are a great way to cut down on how much plastic is used daily. Another fun way to cut down on plastic is to use reusable bags for shopping. Pretty much any store will allow this, and this will help reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in landfills, or in different places that can harm our wildlife.

These are only a few things that can be done to help, but if this is applied to every one’s daily life, a true difference can be made. Lets celebrate Earth Day every day!
