DIY Halloween Costumes
Halloween is one of the most fun times of the year where you can be anyone you want! Whether it’s creepy, funny or cute, there is a costume for everyone. But sometimes people wait until the last minute to find a costume. Let’s take a look at some quick and easy options.
For my costume, which was Violet from “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” I ordered a blue tracksuit off Amazon, bought a blonde short wig from Party City and put blue eyeshadow over my nose. Another creative costume was worn by senior Caroline DelRio who dressed as Vector from “Despicable Me.” She got an orange romper from Amazon, a black wig and black glasses from Goodwill which she popped the lenses out of. She also colored the Nike checks on her shoes orange. DelRio said, “It was easy and creative and got a lot of compliments.”
Since Amazon usually takes more than a day to deliver, let’s look at some day-of costumes. One idea is to be a cat by wearing all black, drawing on a nose and whiskers and looking around the house for cat ears. Another option is to be Little Red Riding Hood with a red hoodie, red skirt and basket. These are just a few very easy options for last minute Halloween costumes. SSA students know how to dress their best even when they are short on time!
